Acupuncture originated over 2,000 years ago in China, making it one of the oldest and most widely recognized healing modalities today. Acupuncture is the art and practice of inserting hair-thin needles at points on the body specific to each patient's individual needs. It is effective at treating pain, managing both chronic and acute conditions, supporting the immune system, helping relieve stress, and so much more.

Facial Acupuncture is a specialized and holistic treatment used to relax the body, reduce fine lines of the face, smooth out the complexion, and enhance both beauty and wellness. Cosmetic Acupuncture is gaining popularity in the West and is a wonderful alternative to Botox or surgery.

Naturopathic medicine is a primary health care practice which emphasizes preventing and treating disease, maintaining optimal health, and promoting a person’s self-healing process through "vis medicatrix naturae" (the healing power of nature). It blends centuries-old natural, nontoxic therapies with current advances in the study of health and human systems, covering all aspects of family health from prenatal through to geriatric care.
Naturopathic medicine has been shown to be effective for treating any health problems, both acute and chronic. Some of the therapies most commonly utilized by NDs include clinical nutrition, homeopathy, botanical medicine, physical medicine (such as myotherapy and hydrotherapy – muscle and water treatment), natural childbirth, counseling and stress management.
Naturopathic doctors emphasize effective conservative treatment first, leaving drugs and surgery as a last resort. They often serve people dissatisfied with conventional medicine. As primary care practitioners, they can also order and interpret lab work, Xrays, MRIs and ultrasound imaging.
Chiropractic care is a complementary and alternative health care profession that focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. It emphasizes manual therapy including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation. There are Chiropractic adjustments for all the joints of the body. They provide pain relief, increased movement and improved nerve function; therefore wellness ensues. Chiropractic and soft tissue massage are well paired. Chiropractic momentarily gaps the joints and massage relaxes the muscles that hold joints in abnormal positions.
Chiropractic medicine is based on the principle that spinal joint misalignments interfere with the nerve energy flow and can result in lower resistance to disease and many different conditions of diminished health.
The chiropractic approach to health care stresses the patient’s overall health. Chiropractors provide natural, drugless, non-surgical health treatments, relying on the body’s inherent recuperative abilities. It also recognizes that many factors affect health, including exercise, diet, rest, environment, and heredity. Chiropractors recommend changes in lifestyle that affect those factors.
Like other health practitioners, chiropractors take a patient history to get information needed to diagnose and treat patients. They also conduct physical, neurological, and orthopedic examinations and may order laboratory tests, X rays and other diagnostic images.

Cupping is often used in conjunction with Acupuncture to relieve pain and support the body's innate ability to heal. A heat induced vacuum is created inside glass cups which are then placed on the skin for a few minutes. The temporary suction has been proven to relax muscles, draw up toxins from deep inside the tissues, activate the lymphatic system and help to reduce pain around the local area.
Gua Sha is a scraping technique used to relieve pain, move stagnation, improve circulation, and support mobility in joints. It involves a tool that resembles a spoon or a flattened surface with an edge, and the practitioner uses it to gently scrape the skin in long strokes until light bruising (or ‘sha’) surfaces. This powerful modality is great for both chronic and acute conditions, and relief is typically felt quickly after the treatment is over.
